Have you been to Subic Beach? Oops! We are not talking about the one in Olongapo, huh! We are talking about another hidden summer sanctuary that you’ll find on Calintaan Island in Sorsogon.

You read it right! We do know that you’ll first think of whale sharks when we tell you about Sorsogon, but there is actually a place yet to be explored by tourists in this province.

Getting there is an adventure itself, From Legazpi Airport you will ride a bus to Daraga – Matnog terminal. Travel time is approximately 2 hours plus 30 minutes boat ride. Boatride can be bumpy at times since you’ll be transporting on an open sea.

Definitely, you’ll find it all worth it, as we always stress, nothing great ever came easy. The beach is raw, secluded, and we must say really breathtaking.

To add to your excitement, Calintaan island is very rich in diversified marine life, so bring your snorkeling and diving gears with you. Of course, include your GoPro or underwater cameras to take that one epic selfie or groufie with the sea creatures. You game?
